USMF and XFight Promotions are pleased to announce the 3rd installment of War of the Heroes. In the continuing effort to promote International Muaythai athletes, this event will feature fighters from Japan and Brazil, as well as from the United States.
The Main Event will feature Marfio “The Warrior Tiger” Canoletti from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Canoletti is a K-1 Superstar with 36 wins, 6 losses and 16 KO’s.
The Co-Main Event will feature Gilmar “China” Sales of Brazil vs Baba Shigeyasu of Japan will be under K-1 Rule and Nathan Willet of USA vs Shawn Yacoubian of USA under full Muaythai Rule. Mike Kogan of FEG (K-1 Max Japan and Dreams) will be our guest of honor in scouting for talent, possibly using War of the Heroes event as a feeder program to K-1 Max.
There will also be 2 USMF Amateur Championship bouts: Dino Pagtakhan vs Eric Faria and Florina Petcu vs Jill Guildo. The winner of these two title fights will earn a spot on USMF National Muaythai Team that would go on to compete at the International Federation of Muaythai Amateurs (IFMA) World Cup in Thailand this November 24-December 5, 2009 in honor of the Authority King of Thailand’s birthday. There are over 115 country teams that will be competing at this World Cup event.
Other under card bouts includes: Ryan Ratcliff, Robert Conejo, Damien Negrete, John Kusaba, Jason Andrada and others.
The turnout at the last War of the Heroes II event was more than we had expected with over 1,500 people in attendance. Our matchmaker has never disappointed and this card is no different. With a card like this one, we expect to have a packed house. The crowd can expect an action packed night filled with fast paced toe to toe actions.
